After nail surgery, it is normal for the toe to feel slightly numb for a few hours until the anaesthetic wears off. You will be advised to rest the foot on the day of the procedure and keep the dressing clean and dry.
Simple daily dressing changes are usually required for a few weeks while the toe heals. Most patients are able to return to normal activities within a day or two, although strenuous activity and swimming should be avoided until healing is well underway.
Our podiatrists will provide full aftercare guidance and are always available if you have any concerns during the healing process.
